#2 Top Spokesperson Who Have Come and Gone: Bill Cosby
May 3, 2011 No Comments
It is hard to imagine any Bill Cosby impersonation without the mention of Jell-O pudding, Kodak, or the infamous New Coke. Shows like the Simpson’s and Family Guy has painted this persona with their various Bill Cosby “guest appearances.”
Earlier this year, Bill Cosby received the AAF President’s Award to commend the great work that he had done for advertising. When looking back at his time in advertising, Ad Age quotes Bill Cosby saying, “it was good publicity, of course, and it helped my career.”
Ad Age also quotes Cosby that he gave advertisers “a person who believes in their product, while if I presented a Bill Cosby who didn’t care, their sales would stop right there on the screen. Obviously, I could never do that. Once I believe in the product I aim to sell it, and that’s what I think I do better than anybody.”
So whether you love Bill Cosby for his amazing humor, his epic television show, or just think his advertisements are just weird, you cannot deny the impact that he has made with being a spokesperson. For his great contribution to advertising, Bill Cosby is #2 on the top spokesperson who has come and gone.
