#9 Top Spokesperson Who Have Come and Gone: Sugar Bear
March 30, 2011 No Comments
“Can’t get enough of that Golden Crisp!”
The song says it all. You just can’t get enough of it. The same goes with Sugar Bear, the spokes bear for Golden Crisp, Sugar Crisp, Super Golden Crisp, Super Sugar Crisp.
This spokes bear has been entertaining from the 70’s though the 90’s and, like the Trix Rabbit, wants his cereal (either Golden or Sugar). The only difference with him from the rabbit is that he actually succeeds. There are also different varieties of commercials where Sugar Bear defends his Golden Crisp from other animals or sealing it from his human counterparts. Either way, Sugar Bear can’t get enough.
What makes him different than most of all other cartoon spokesperson is that he is smooth like honey and sweet as sugar. Wikipedia contributors have deemed Sugar Bear having “qualities similar to Dean Martin’s” and “easy going.” To go along with his smooth voice, Sugar Bear is a wonderful wordsmith with his great puns. Although the puns did not make any sense to me as a child, he is able to (as much as he could) be smart enough for adults.
With such a catchy theme song that even has a cameo on The Simpsons grants Sugar Bear #9 on the top spokesperson who has come and gone.
